Helping Rob cope with Tetraplegia

Slowly on the mend again

Rob has spent a lot of time asleep over the last couple of days as he recovers from his frightening episode. His chest is still very sore when he is turned and it is difficult to be very chirpy when you have this sort of set back. It has made us all realise how delicate Rob’s situation is and that there is no room for any mishaps however small – it seems that this situation was initiated by a faulty humidifier and that increased use of nebulisers was not a sufficient back up. The lessons learnt will make for a safer and better care package for the future. Rob is likely to be in Frenchay for at least a week as he needs firstly to get better, then get back onto his home ventilator and humidifer for a couple of days before returning home.
