Helping Rob cope with Tetraplegia

Time to get out and about

It has been pretty hectic at home since getting back on Monday. There was a lot of unpacking and sorting to do as Rob was sent home with all essential equipment plus a 1 month supply of all the consumables. Then there has been lots of meetings with the ICCM care agency team, local district nurse, OT and physio as we try to get all the care needs sorted into some sort of routine. Rob’s car which we tried in Salisbury arrived on Thursday and it was no time before we decided to have a run out in it to Tesco for some forgotten goodies. Another step forward to actually go out and choose your own food. Whilst out Rob wanted a quick detour into the rugby club to make sure that it was still there – it was!
On Good Friday we decided to picnic in front of the Wycliffe College Boat House – very timely as Tom James came to visit, one of Rob’s rowing crew mates with whom he had spent many hours of dedicated training rowing on the canal in preparation for numerous school and National regattas.
