JASON & CLARE KENDALL’S HIKE AROUND MENORCA – APRIL 2014
Long standing friends of the family, Jason and Clare Kendall have found a way to combine their love of hiking with raising money for Rob and his Cammpaign. Here’s what they are planning:
“We have known Rob and the Camms since reception class at Tockington Manor and been great friends ever since, with our annual Kendall/Camm skiing holiday being one of the highlights of our year. We’re keen to do our bit to help with fundraising for anything that will help Rob.
We are donning our walking boots and rucksacks once again and will be hiking 185 miles around the island of Menorca in 10 days in aid of Rob, camping rough as we go…
This will be an unsupported trek around Menorca in April in aid of Rob. It may not sound very adventurous
compared with some of our previous expeditions but there’s more to it than you may think! The island is 185 miles in circumference and we will walk around it in 10 days. There are long stretches with no infrastructure including no fresh water, so we will be carrying all of our equipment including tents, cooking gear and food and we will camp rough and plant water in preplanned spots prior to the walk. On many days there is significant height gain and loss across coastal terrain with rocky cliffs, as you can see from a couple of the photos. April should be ideal with cooler weather but out of season Menorca is often quite stormy, so we have to be prepared for any weather conditions!” – Clare and Jason Kendall
Best wishes to Clare and Jason as they prepare for this amazing challenge as well as our thanks for all their support of Rob and the family. If you would like to sponsor Clare and Jason or find out about their challenge please visit their Donation Page.
