Helping Rob cope with Tetraplegia

Huge thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in the Dressage Event at Summerhouse, particularly to Mel Glover and Kathy Oliver the organisers. Here’s what they had to say about the day:

“Well – what a lovely time we had a Summerhouse Equestrian Centre with our “Cammpaign 4 Rob” dressage competition.

The weather was hot – perhaps a little too hot but we’re not complaining.

Competitors competed, judges judged, writers wrote, stewards stewarded, and the scorers added and triple checked their sums  from about 8.45 in the morning until 4.30ish in the afternoon. Fortunately the first aiders were redundant!

All in all lots of happy smiley faces, and to top it all we raised over £1000 for Rob’s Cammpaign.

A few thank yous must be said though as without the generosity of the following people we could not have run the event:-

Summerhouse Equestrian Centre and the Gallop family for hosting the event.
AM dressage  and Anna Davison for the insurance.
C M Downton for the beautiful rosettes and trophies.
Sarah Sharpe – Bond & Co, Eastington for the dressage sheets.
Castle Catering for kindly donating any profit from the on the day refreshment sales to the Cammpaign.

A huge, huge thank you to all the following people for kindly giving up their Saturday:-
Alistair Bull, Ros Jones, Sarah Gallop and Amanda Ganley for judging.
Julia Hall, Gail Pearce, Ann and Ady Luffman and Teresa Ventimiglia for writing.
Sam Hall, Janet MacDonald, Sarah Sharpe, Ann and Ady Luffman for stewarding.
Janet Harrison and Lucy Grey for being the first aiders.
Leah Glover and Alfie Edwards for scoring.
Sarah Witchell for support crew refreshments.
And of course the competitors for turning up and competing.

Thank you to everyone – it was a team effort and we all made the event the success it was.

First place rosettes were won by
Class 1 Davinia Perry and Widlake Double Bounce
Class 2 Emily Williams and Flaxley Dinky
Class 3 William Collett and Fleetcroft Contradiction
Class 4 Emma Williams and Flaxley Dinky
Class 5 Caroline Savoury and Sergeant Pepper

Emma Williams took the championship trophy as she was the only competitor with two first places.

Breaking news – there is the possibility of this event being run again next year….”

Congratulations on such a great event and thank you so much for supporting Rob.

“Full steam ahead for the dressage on Saturday with over 100 entries across the five classes – no more entries are being taken.

Many thanks to our generous sponsors – Downton’s for the rosettes and trophies, Summerhouse for the use of their lovely venue, AM dressage and Anna Davison Equine Physio for the insurance.

We have first aid cover from Janet Harrison and Lucy Grey.

On site refreshments from Castle Catering.

Dressage judges, writers and stewards are in place.

We would love a couple of poo pickers for the morning and afternoon if anyone is at a loss with what to do on Saturday please and we would also welcome anyone who would like to sponsor the purchase of the dressage sheets (£60).

Thank you – we look forward to seeing all the competitors on Saturday.” – Mel Glover and Kathy Oliver, Organisers

Good luck to everyone involved in the event – organisers, sponsors and competitors – and thank you for supporting Rob and his future.
