A big thank you to John Simonett and The Dodderers’ for organising a fantastic Touch4Rob event on Sunday. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves and congratulations to all the players and in particular Smith’s Shotguns who took the winner’s trophy. A full report and more pictures to follow but in the meantime read Rob’s thank you on his blog

The tournament itself is only one of the attractions. The event will be a really family friendly day out with BBQ, ice cream van, bouncy castle and plenty of space to run around. There will also be a raffle featuring signed photos of Premiership and International players very kindly provided by the Matt Hampson Foundation who have been very supportive of Ian, Gill and Rob.

There will also be an auction which includes a shirt and ball signed by the Gloucester squad which have been generously provided by sponsors Adey Magnaclean. Adey, who are the main sponsor of Gloucester Rugby, have also provided trophies for the tournament and have arranged for 2 members of the current Gloucester squad to attend on the day to sign autographs (and to be in selfies!).

For the most up to date information make sure you visit the Dodderers’ Touch4Rob website and if you would like to support this event, which is in aid of both Cammpaign4Rob and the Matt Hampson Foundation, they have a Donation Page too.

The Dodderers’ Touch Rugby Team, who Rob had played for a few times, is putting on a tournament on 6 July to raise funds for Cammpaign4Rob.

“This will be a Family Fun Day! The tournament is intended to be a “social” occasion – so no experience is needed! There will be activities for children and a supervised area for them to play impromptu games of touch and let off steam!

There will also be a Bouncy Castle, BBQ, Bar, Tea and Coffee by Mmm Coffee, Ice Cream Van and Live Music. It is planned as a morning tournament – so you will be able to be back home for Sunday Lunch!”

Rob’s home club, Dursley RFC will host the event, which will start at 10am. There will be sixteen teams, allocated on a first come-first served basis and will cost £10 per person. If you would like to register a team or for more information please contact John Simonett on 07774 675222 or 01453 828568 or email Entries close on 28 June 2014.

For more information on the Touch4Rob event please visit the Dodderers’ Website.

Good luck to everyone involved and thank you to the Dodderers for supporting Cammpaign4Rob.
