Kelly writes: “We all met in the race village this morning for some team spirit and to wish each other luck! Due to colour coding Kelly and Steven were in the same group and ran together for the first 10.5 miles and Suzie and Trina were in the same group and ran every stride together, Trina keeping Suzie (who had only landed from her Spanish holiday at ten o’clock the night before) motivated to the finish.

It was clear blue skies and the Bristolian crowd were a great support. Having our names on our t-shirts was very motivating as people encouraged us from the side. It was a brilliant day and we are all very proud to have our medals!

The sponsorship page is still open for anyone still wishing to donate and we are not far off of our target.

Thanks to everyone’s kind wishes and sponsorship. It’s been greatly appreciated for what we feel has been a very worthwhile event.”

Many thanks to Kelly, Suzie, Trina and Steven and their sponsors for supporting Rob in this way which is very much appreciated.

Kelly Harrison has got together with friends Suzie, Trina and Steven to run the Bristol Half Marathon on 21 September to raise funds for Cammpaign4Rob. They have set up a sponsorship page for anyone willing to support their effort.

Kelly explains:

Three of us work or have worked for B & W Equine Group and have met Rob who has always been very helpful, most notably for his strength carrying furniture up to the intern flat!

We are all keen to help this worthy cause and have a wide range of experience in attempting the Bristol Half Marathon:

Suzie has had two chidren over the past two years and apart from running after these two hasn’t done any training for 17 years! She is keen to face a new challenge.

Trina began running a year ago and has successfully completed some 10km races. Although she never envisaged taking part in an event that is twice this distance Trina is willing to attempt the Bristol Half in the name of a good cause.

Steven is a keen rugby player, playing for Swindon RFC. He finished the Liverpool Half Marathon in 2009 after which he decided he would never enter another half marathon again! He is hoping the fund raising will keep him motivated.

Kelly has previously completed 4 half marathons, each time running for charity, although she hasn’t taken part in any event for 2 years. Kelly is looking forward to the Bristol Half Marathon and would love to make it her biggest fund raiser yet.

Good luck Kelly, Suzie, Trina and Steven with your training and of course for the half marathon itself and thank you for supporting Cammpaign4Rob.
