ON Wednesday Cyclone brought down the much talked about FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) bike for Rob to try. The trial went really well and saw Rob pedalling using his own muscles for 20 minutes. range of joint mobility. Improving blood flow and building muscle can also help reduce the ever present pressure sore risk. Whilst this trial only worked on Rob’s legs the full kit can work both arms and legs.
The afternoon saw Rob working really hard for over 2 hours on the computer, trialling the smart nav technology for mouse movement and building up his Dragon voice recognition skills.
That left the evening free for eyegaze chess, reading, music and a bit of skype with mates.
